Land Acknowledgement

The City of Vancouver is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil- Waututh) Nations. The land on which this Workshop takes place is the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) People. The Peter A Allard School of Law acknowledges the ongoing connection of the Musqueam people, past and present, to this territory, the Musqueam People’s jurisdiction, and their continued care for the lands, waters, and beings in this territory.

Allard is proud and committed to its Indigenous Legal Studies program, and grateful to Indigenous faculty, students, and staff who lead and shape Indigenous legal traditions and Aboriginal law.
